The Quaker Chemical Foundation (funded by The Quaker Chemical Corporation) does not issue an annual report.
The Foundation’s principal areas of interest for disbursement of funds are directed to organizations whose
activities may be described as:
- Cultural
- Educational
- Health and Welfare
- Civic and Community
The following guidelines are offered as general information:
- Organizations must have charitable organization tax-exempt status 501(c)3 as defined by the Internal Revenue
Service.
- As a broad rule, the Foundation does not support national organizations and limits the focus of interest to
organizations affecting communities/areas in which Quaker Chemical Corporation has active operations.
- If your request is educational, the Foundation is particularly interested
in granting awards related to chemistry or the physical sciences.
- All grant applications must contain the supporting documentation
listed below. In the event this information is unavailable, a description
explaining/answering the particular item may be substituted and attached:
- Project description with a pro-forma budget. (Note: The Foundation
generally does NOT support brick and mortar projects and requests.)
- Current agency annual operating budget and audited financial statements.
- List of funding sources for the organization, including past major
contributors with amounts, recent applications with results, and anticipated
future funding sources.
- List of Board of Directors and officers.
- The Foundation’s Fiscal Year runs July 1st of the current year to June 30th of the following year. Grant
Applications (complete with all required supporting documentation as
indicated above) must be submitted on an annual basis and received
not later than April 30th of each current fiscal year for inclusion
in the fiscal year that commences July 1st. Grant requests not received
by the April 30th deadline will not be considered for that fiscal
year. As a general rule, the budget is fixed in advance of the upcoming
fiscal year. Though some funds are allocated for contingency purposes,
grants charged to such funds are very limited.
- In terms of grant size, the Foundation’s philosophy has been to make smaller grants to a large number of
organizations, instead of larger grants to a small number of organizations. The average grant award is $1,500.
- Decisions on grant approval or non-approval will be communicated
to submitting agencies during the month of July.
