Description
- Manage all quality assurance processes and ensure the effectiveness of the North American Quality Management System which includes:
- Develop and maintain a Standardized Corporate Quality System within all of Quaker North America.
- Coordinate the ISO program at all Quaker NA sites.
- Schedule audits for NA sites with the appropriate auditing agency.
- Manage the effectiveness of the customer problem resolution (CPR) process.
- Function as Quaker Chemical Corporations’ Contact Liaison for all Industry and Customer Quality System requirements which includes:
- Ensure adherence to all Industry and Customer Quality System requirements as necessary.
- Report, maintain and submit quality system documentation used for customer presentations, customer quality surveys and customer quality certifications.
- Implements new quality assurance tools (SPC, 5S, six-sigma, etc), training and programs as appropriate to improve North American quality performance which includes:
- Train and assist Quaker associates in the implementation of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Develop ways to capture and quantify quality, cost and productivity improvements.
- Ensure that some quantitative quality, cost and/or productivity savings are achieved.
- Manage North American Operations’ Training Program by maintaining the training requirements and training records to document effectiveness. Assist local management in finding training deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required include:
- Fielding SPC questions and interfacing with suppliers regarding the Raw Material Supplier Database and SPR System as necessary
- Participate in and/or lead the efforts of any customer site audits, as directed.
- Serve as a site ISO management rep.
- Serve as manager of a site quality control department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S. ) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline, and two to five years related experience and/or training. Must have reasonable knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes. Knowledge of and experience with batch manufacturing preferred. ISO auditor experience preferred. Two or more years of successful work experience in related field.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise.
- Ability to work in various team configurations across department and geographical lines, and effectively drive for resolution of issues related to Quality.
- Must be able to don and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by work environment.
- Some work is done in a production manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to traverse uneven terrain with slippery and uneven surfaces. The noise level in the industrial environment is moderate to high.
