Sr. Purchasing Clerk

Spring Hill, Tennessee

Description

  • Compile and maintain information; record information such as supplier and pricing data, and special ordering instructions.
  • Submit data for new raw chemicals and maintain chemical vendor and lead time files.
  • Perform inventory; phone in chemical orders including those needed by the laboratory; verify and enter all related ordering data into the computer using JD Edwards.
  • Monitor receipt of chemical orders; phone suppliers to determine receipt dates; record problems with supplier performance, communicating results internally.
  • Work toward solving problems with late deliveries with the assistance of the Sr. Inventory Control Planner.
  • Handle routine project work as assigned by the Site Manager.
  • Review invoice discrepancies from Accounts Payable.
  • MSDS/HazCom Management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, with one to three years related experience and/or training.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.  Word, Excel, JD Edwards or other ERP systems required.  Knowledge of Access database a plus.  Must be able to work independently and remotely.  Experience in a Union Environment.
