Description
- Transfer product technology, application know-how and best practices from one region to another, delivering everywhere the best from anywhere.
- Provide expert technical support and process knowledge to key customers in Asia Pacific and Europe, including presence at demonstrations.
- Provide trouble shooting, problem solving, and corrective action to processing problems, including support for local laboratories, Product Managers, Process Engineers, and on-site technical personnel.
- Maintain regular contacts with the OEM's, building relationships, securing product approvals and keeping track of technology and market trends.
- Communicate regularly with the Technical Manager for North and South America to maintain a good exchange of information on products, process and applications.
- Play a lead role in the Global Steel Team, contributing to strategy development, awareness of new steel technologies and the Research project selection process.
- Develop relationships with senior technical managers at key customers in order to keep up to date with technology developments and to promote Quaker’s global capabilities.
- Coordinate the Global Steel Journal and communicate/promote best practices within the steel business, developing awareness of leading-edge Steel processing technologies, new product performance and customer solutions.
- Establish and document training programs for individuals involved with technical processing worldwide. Conduct regional training seminars as appropriate.
- Ensure that the MIS database is regularly updated with complete and accurate mill data.
- Make an annual program with Senior VP Global and Regional Managing Directors.
Qualifications
This position requires knowledge of technical engineering to the level norm acquired in a university program or equivalent. At least ten years of experience in the process industry in multiple functional roles (e.g. marketing, sales, general management, production, and finance) is required. Knowledge of Chemical/Technical Engineering to the level norm acquired in at least a Bachelor degree program or equivalent. Candidate thinks internationally, has international experience, broad experience in a technical management position and has process knowledge in the appropriate industry. Candidate is a technical expert who acts on both a strategic and operational level and is able to understand and to solve technical process related problems at customers. Must have excellent communication abilities, be fluent in English (verbal and writing) and a second regional language and be characterized by e.g. following qualities: leader, strategic, result oriented, team player, action oriented, worldly outlook, problem solver, inquisitive, analytical and sense of humor.
