Fluid Management for Small Manufacturers

Quaker has developed a range of technical support programs called Chemical and Coolant Management Services to help our large customers reduce their total cost of using metalworking fluids.  This system provides improved metalworking product performance, reduced costs, and enhanced environmental integrity.  Through our partnership with Safety-Kleen, Quaker is now able to provide Coolant Management to smaller manufacturing customers in locations throughout the US.

“This combination of superior products and services, backed up by a very strong network of experienced, local personnel and facilities, means all of our customers now have the best products available to them, as well as the reliability of local service capacity," said Mike Barry, Quaker’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for North America.

Safety-Kleen Metalworking Fluid Management Program
Safety-Kleen brings the resources of a national company and the experience of a company that has been in business since 1968. During this time they have successfully served a wide variety of manufacturing industries throughout the United States. This has been done through 160 service centers with a field staff of over 1,000. Safety-Kleen offers a comprehensive total coolant management program that includes sump cleaning and coolant waste disposal, continuous coolant filtration using the patented FluidKleen® System, waste minimization, and regulatory compliance services. In partnership with Quaker, Safety-Kleen offers an unparalleled program to assure high productivity, low cost, safety, and environmental compliance.

Under this unique Fluid Management Program, customer’s manufacturing costs will be reduced by:

  • Supplying premium Quaker coolants and maintaining them at optimum concentration levels to ensure top performance across the full range of metalworking operations; turn-key services also include portable coolant filtration, coolant sump cleaning, coolant replenishment and spent coolant disposal.
  • Increasing manufacturing line efficiency by reducing downtime to re-work parts, recalibrate machines or clean CNC/machine tool sumps, while improving both the quality and finish of parts.
  • Providing customized CNC/machine tool maintenance based on actual customer manufacturing processes and schedules, including service on nights and weekends.
  • Analyzing customer-specific metalworking requirements and concerns, such as metal types, cutting processes and temperatures, water hardness, etc., in order to design complete solutions tailored to individual customer needs.

Safety-Kleen’s North American network of more than 160 facilities and service centers will now be augmented by Quaker’s extensive network of “Value Added Representatives,” allowing the two companies to deliver unmatched service to all metalworking facilities, regardless of size.
