Frequently Asked Questions About
Quaker Management Services (QMSsm)

Listed below are some of the most commonly asked questions that we have been asked:

How will Quaker implement the Management Services Program?

A comprehensive, thoroughly documented proposal will be written as part of Phase I to cover implementation and ALL aspects of the agreement. Quaker will perform to a formal scope of work established jointly with the customer.

Will Quaker help reduce our product costs?

As your partner, Quaker will aggressively pursue price concessions on large volume products from Tier two suppliers. Quaker will seek lower cost alternative sources of supply on comparable items.

Will Quaker maintain current key suppliers?

Quaker will contact a number of the plant's current vendors and develop a working relationship to ensure a continuous supply of products to the plant. We have a long history of working with a number of major suppliers. For example, we signed a national contract to handle all of a customer’s plants in the US.

How will Quaker relieve the plant of the inventory?

Upon signing a formal agreement, Quaker will immediately inventory all items covered under the terms of the contract. If inventory ownership is in the Scope of Work, a value will be established and Quaker will assume the liability of those items.

Will Quaker consider product consolidations?

Quaker is convinced that significant savings can and will be achieved by product consolidation. In Phase II, Quaker follows a comprehensive 12-step process regarding product consolidation. No product substitutions will occur without prior approval of the Management Services Team.

Will Quaker reduce the number of drums in the plant?

By utilizing bulk-to-bin deliveries where possible, as well as delivery in liqua-bins in lieu of drums, a meaningful reduction in drums will be achieved.

Will Quaker reduce the plant's transaction costs?

In Phase II, Quaker will provide one detailed monthly invoice to reduce transaction costs?

Will Quaker improve the plant's process knowledge?

When chosen to be your partner, Quaker will be committed to improving your production processes. Quaker will maintain daily logs of the most critical systems in the plant. The Management Services Team will report areas for process improvement to the Management Team.

Will Quaker improve material use knowledge?

In Phase II, accurate, timely reports will be generated and regularly updated on usage by location.

Can Quaker help the plant reduce sulfur and chlorine containing products?

Quaker will actively implement programs geared at the elimination of offending products. Any offending coolants, cutting oils, and metal-forming lubricants will be replaced. Quaker offers a complete line of sulfur & chlorine free metalworking products.

Can Quaker reduce the use of paper/cloth filters?

Quaker will employ a two-pronged attack to address this concern. First, all mechanical filtration units will be adjusted to the manufacturers’ published specifications.  Second, filter manufacturers will be asked to investigate the equipment and processes and report on methods that will generate cost savings.

Will labels be standardized?

Quaker will implement a program of label standardization while allowing each supplier sufficient leeway to work with their present HMIS program.
