Product Stewardship Program

Product stewardship is a way that everyone who designs, makes, sells, uses, and recycles or disposes of chemical products can help protect safety, health and environmental quality. It is a concept that calls on everyone in the product life cycle to share responsibility. And Quaker is answering the call. In fact, we have been at the forefront of creating workable and effective product stewardship programs for our industry.

Quaker’s Product Stewardship Mission Statement.
Quaker is a global company that recognizes its commitment to Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE) for its associates, customers and community. Product Stewardship is the Management system that integrates SHE responsibilities into every phase of our products’ lifecycles. Through excellence in product stewardship, Quaker will become a trusted SHE resource for its stakeholders.

We’ve demonstrated our commitment in the long-standing and important role we have played in the product stewardship program development jointly undertaken with the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association
(ILMA®). Our actions truly differentiate us from many of our competitors.

The Advent of LubeCare®. ILMA has developed a program to help member companies integrate safety, health and environmental considerations in their design, manufacture, use, and disposal of lubricant products. Known as LubeCare, it is a single program that identifies five management practices: management commitment; product design development; management of the manufacturing environment; customer education and outreach; and accountability and performance evaluation.
